Having A Bad Day?

He sent out his word and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction. – Psalms 107:20

Yesterday, everything that could go wrong, went wrong. Everything was such a struggle. I wasn’t just having a bad day. I was having a crisis of faith. I questioned what I believed.

I had the most honest conversations with God yesterday, yet He felt as if He wasn’t listening, as if He didn’t want to hear me.

I know that isn’t true. I know God is with me always. I know that God hears the cries of the righteous person.

I also know that if we don’t keep our emotions in check, they will be our undoing. They will take over our lives. They will be in control instead of us.

Just like everything else in life we have to give them to God…and let Him heal what is broken in our lives. πŸ™‚

Do You Live In Peace?

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. – Isaiah 26:3

The Lord will keep you in perfect peace if you keep your mind stayed on Him.

Do you keep your mind constantly on God? When you have a problem arise in your life, do you automatically think "What does the Word say about this"?

Most people have too much of the world’s thinking in them. So much so that when a problem arises, they think the world’s solution first. Then only after they calm down, do they think about what God says about that situation.

The world’s solution needs to be the last thing on your mind. When you focus on their solution, you leave God out of the equation. You sidestep your miracle in favor of a solution you can see rather than one you have to believe for.

Instead of focusing your mind on the world, focus your mind on God and His Word. Remind yourself that your blessing, all that Jesus died to give you, is not based on you and your performance. It is based on Jesus and His shed blood.

Whatever the Bible promises, you can have. Whatever the Bible says you are, you are. Whatever it says you can do, you can do. Not based on your ability. Not based on your talent. Not based on your performance.

You cannot earn anything from God. You are just not that good. Neither am I or anyone else in this world.

Keep focused on Jesus and what He did for you at the Cross. As you focus on Jesus, God will keep you in perfect peace. πŸ™‚

Are Your Eyes Open?

…He said to him, "Do you want to be made well?" The sick man answered Him, "Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me." Jesus said to him, "Rise, take up your bed and walk." And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked… John 5:6–9

Here this man is. He has been lying near the pool, waiting for an angel to stir the waters.

In front of him is an even better miracle. The Son of God stood in front of him, asking him if he wanted to be healed.

Seems like a no-brainer to say yes,.but he didn’t. He complained about not getting his an everyday miracle when an extraordinary stood in front of him.

Like this man, our vision is sometimes limited by what we perceive to be the only route to our miracle.

We have to open eyes to the other more extraordinary ways God may want to use to get our miracle to us. πŸ™‚

What Has God Done For You?

Blessed be the Lord, Who daily loads us with benefits, The God of our salvation! Selah – Psalm 68:19

God daily loads us with benefits. Like what?

Like how many times has He prevented you from getting sick? How many times did you suddenly have enough money to pay all the bills when times got tough? How many times has God brought you extra work when you needed it? How many times has God repaired relationships in your life? How many times has He prevented you from being killed?

What about all the times He has saved us from bad things that we weren’t aware of? How many times have you felt a prompting that you follow only to find out God spared you from trouble?

Every day God is working on our behalves. He is not working to harm us but to help us. Too many times though we focus on what He hasn’t done instead of what He has done. Take time to thank God for all He has done in your life each day. πŸ™‚

Resting In Your Heart?

…Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.” – Luke 10:42

Mary chose the good part.

Mary sat at Jesus’ feet while Martha cooked and cleaned and grumbled.

We believe that unless we are.doing, that God is not pleased with us.

No, God calls us to rest in Him.

Resting is not physical resting. It is a state of being, a state of not worrying because we believe that what He said, He will do.

We can be doing our daily chores or at work, but our minds and hearts are totally trusting on God to fix everything that is broken in our lives.

Remember God will keep us in perfect peace when our minds are stayed on Him (Isaiah 26:3). πŸ™‚

Are You Complaining?

Do everything without grumbling or arguing, – Philippians 2:14

I found myself complaining today about my job–that they put me through yet another training module, that they made me authorize yet another background check–when I realized that some people don’t have jobs at all.

How many times do you complain about the things in your life that you take for granted? Like the roof over your head? The food on the table? The job that pays for all that?

We are all guilty of grumbling or arguing our way through the everyday chores or the extra tasks at work, but there are people in this world who look us and think we are the richest people in the world. There are people who would trade lives with us any day of the week.

Instead of focusing on the bad, we need to find the good in every situation, and thank God for it. When we do, we will turn our grumbling into praise to our Most High God, who loves us and knows what is best for us. πŸ™‚

Is It The Right Time?

Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin… – Zechariah 4:10, NLT

I am a big picture person, so I see the future goal. Only when I look at reality, I don’t see what God promised me. Instead I see the seedling of what He is doing.

Many times I tell God that has, been too long, that I have waited too long for what He promised to come to pass.

Only God knows what He wants to do and in what timing it needs to be done.

Only God is in charge…and we need to accept His plan as well as the timing for that plan.

Don’t despise small beginnings because it is all part of the plan. His plan. πŸ™‚

Receiving Love?

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord – Romans 8:38-39 (NIV)

Nothing can seperate us from the love of God. Nothing. But don’t the preachers teach that we have to love God more, that the only way to get any thing from God is to love Him more. Isn’t the love burden on us? Aren’t we the ones who have to do all the loving in order to get God to love us, to listen to us, to do for us.

We love Him because He first loved us (

1 John 4:19). His love comes first. We have to soak up His love, know how much He loves us before we can love Him, before we can love ourselves, before we can love others.

Love hinges of God. It hinges on us knowing how much God loved us that He sent His Son to die for our sins, to become sin for us, so that we don’t have to go to Hell.

Don’t worry about loving God. Instead soak in His love for you…and the rest will fall into place. πŸ™‚

Expressing Gratitude?

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. – Colossians 2:6-7 (NIV)

Thankfulness. How many times are we thankful in a day? How many times do we thank the people around us? How many times do we thank our customers? Our pastor? Our spouses? Our family?

We are supposed to be overflowing with thankfulness, but thankfulness seems to be out of place in our society. We say it because it is polite. We say it because it is expected, but do we really mean it?

Take a moment and think of all the things and people you are grateful for. Why aren’t you expressing that gratitude to them? Why aren’t expressing your gratitude for your salvation, for the forgiveness of your sins, to God?

We need to make a conscious effort to bring thankfulness to the forefront of our minds and make every day a day of thanksgiving.

Not only is it God’s will for you, but people who are thankful overcomes problems far quicker than those who aren’t. Express your gratitude today. πŸ™‚

Are You Bold?

"The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion." (Proverbs 28:1, NKJV)

We as Believers are supposed to be bold as lions, but most of the time, Believers are afraid.

Afraid to share the Gospel for fear of being rejected.

Afraid of stepping out on faith.

Afraid of believing that God will do what He promised.

Afraid to dare to be all that God called us to be…fearless and bold in the face of trouble.

Instead we need to take God at His Word and trust Him. When we do, we will become as bold as a lion because instead of bring afraid, we will have confidence that God is in control. πŸ™‚
